Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling have reportedly split up.

The duo, who began dating in 2011 after meeting on the set of the movie, 'The Place Beyond the Pines' and have always been notoriously private about their romance, ended their relationship over Christmas because they wanted different things.

A source told InTouch magazine that the 39-year-old actress and the 33-year-old 'The Notebook' star are still on good terms.

The insider said: "They started having problems back in September. They decided to quietly call it off for good around Christmas. There is no ill will."

The heartthrob has retreated to his native Canada to get over their break-up.

A friend told Life & Style magazine: "Neither is rushing out to date other people right now. They just knew it was time.

"They knew it was time to take the next step and get married. But neither was sure they wanted that to happen.

"He packed up and moved back to Canada for a while. He felt like he needed time out of the limelight to refocus."

Ryan's desire to start a family and Eva's love of the spotlight drove the couple apart.

A source explained: "Eva loves Hollywood, the parties, the glamour, loves going out," and added Ryan is "introverted, very serious and a total homebody."

The 'Training Day' actress previously admitted she wasn't interested in becoming a mother.

She said: "I'm certainly not thinking about being a mom. I can't imagine it. I'm too selfish."

While Ryan said in the past he would love to be "making babies."

A spokesperson for the brunette beauty declined to comment.

Red Hot Chili Peppers have defended their decision not to plug in their instruments at the Super Bowl.

The band - who were joined Bruno Mars for a rendition of 'Give It Away' during the American football game on Sunday (02.02.14) - sang live but pre-recorded the rest of their set.

In a statement, bassist Flea said: ''When we were asked by the NFL and Bruno to play our song 'Give It Away' at the Super Bowl, it was made clear to us that the vocals would be live, but the bass, drums and guitar would be pre-recorded.

''I understand the NFL's stance on this, given they only have a few minutes to set up the stage, there a zillion things that could go wrong and ruin the sound for the folks watching in the stadium and the TV viewers. There was not any room for argument on this, the NFL does not want to risk their show being botched by bad sound, period. (sic)''

Flea and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer were seen strumming on their electric instruments but neither were plugged in.

They joined singer Anthony Keidis and drummer Chad Smith on stage, while eagle-eyed musicians took to Twitter to tell fans they were not playing live.

Blues artist Joe Bonamassa tweeted: 'Flea ... I mean we all know, but for god's sake at least try to humor the children.'

Meanwhile, Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid posted: ''That guitar is plugged into NOTHING.''

Selena Gomez went to rehab last month.

The 21-year-old star - who has an on/off relationship with Justin Bieber - was admitted to Dawn at The Meadows recovery center in Arizona on January 5, and spent two weeks at the facility, which treats people aged 18 to 26 years old who are "struggling with emotional trauma, addiction or dual diagnosis concerns."

Her representative confirmed: "Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows but not for substance abuse."

The former Disney child star was urged to seek help by those close to her amid concerns her partying was getting out of control.

One source told RadarOnline.com: "Her friends and family became increasingly worried that there might be a serious problem with Selena.

"Particularly, her parents. The partying was, at times, wild. They wanted to help her -- and they very much encouraged her to go to rehab. Others very close to her also urged her to seek professional help."

Another added: "It's important to remember that Selena had worked in Hollywood non-stop for six years. She was exhausted. Selena was smart enough to understand that she needed to take control of her life.

"It just got to a point where she needed to get out of Los Angeles, get away from 'the scene' and the pressures of Hollywood, to also get away from those who had, admittedly, become a bad influence on her.

"Selena needed to take the opportunity to work on herself. She realized she needed help."

Selena - who reportedly "regularly" smoked marijuana with Justin - had been due to tour Australia this month but cancelled the shows in order to "spend time on [herself]."

And the brunette beauty is now said to be doing well.

A source said: "Selena is now happy and very healthy and already getting back to work."

Bill Murray loved seeing Matt Damon "victimized" by George Clooney.

The 'Monuments Men' actor-and-director pranked his co-star by secretly having the wardrobe department take in his clothes every week and Bill admits the entire set were in on the joke.

He said: "The only one who got victimized was Matt Damon. He got Damon pretty good with his uniform. Taking his pants in a quarter-in every week...

"The rest of us just got to enjoy that because we all knew and we'd see him in just firing those abs, really firing them to try and keep those trousers up.

"You'd go 'That's great, do you want to do another set?' and you could see him go like, 'Oh my muscles are fatigued, I'm good', that was good."

Despite falling victim to the prank, Matt insists he had a great time working on the film - which follows an Allied group who try and save pieces of art and other items of cultural importance before their destruction by Adolf Hitler - because everyone was so professional.

He told 'Entertainment Tonight': "It's not that we were like yucking it up or toasting marshmallows on the set or anything, it was really because we've all made a lot of movies and everybody independently appreciated being on a movie where the script was so good, the director knew what he was doing and was in control and where we had fellow cast members who were experienced enough to know that's as good as it gets and it was a best experience for all of us in that way."

And another star of the film, John Goodman says it was one of the best movie-making experiences he has ever had.

He said: "It was probably the most fun I've ever had working on a film. There was a lot of good down time. Swapping lives, telling stories. George was so professional, he had his work done ahead of time."

Sean Penn and Charlize Theron want to get married.

The couple - who made their first public appearance together three weeks ago - have only been dating a few months, but now the 'Milk' star has moved in with his girlfriend and her adopted son Jackson, two, they are talking about taking their relationship further.

A source told RadarOnline.com: "Sean is head over heels in love with Charlize, and her son Jackson.

"He is a totally different person around Charlize, she brings out the gentle and fun side that not many people have seen of Sean. To see this previously surly grown man, romping around Charlize's backyard with Jackson, with a smile on his face would amaze Sean's detractors. Charlize is getting Sean to not take himself to seriously.

"The two began talking about marriage in the last few weeks, after Sean moved into Charlize's house. She has never wanted to get married, but seeing how Sean interacts with Jackson, she is having a change of heart.

"For the longest time, Charlize thought it was just going to be her and Jackson, and she was OK with that. For her to now be talking about getting married is a huge departure for Charlize."

While it may seem like their relationship is moving quickly, friends of 53-year-old Sean - who divorced second wife Robin Wright in 2010 after 14 years of marriage - and Charlize, 38, say it is to be expected.

The insider said: "They've known each other for over a decade, and have always been friends, so it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that things are getting serious so fast."

And the actor - who has children Dylan, 23, and Hopper, 20, with Robin - is even talking about adopting Charlize's son if they marry.

The source said: "Sean is in a very good place right now. He has been single for awhile after his divorce with Robin Wright. People didn't realize how hard he took that divorce.

"He felt like a really big failure, he never wanted to be divorced. Charlize is truly the light in his life. He is even talking about adopting Jackson if they get married!"

George Clooney isn't cut out for Twitter.

The 'Monuments Men' star doesn't want an account on the social networking site because he's worried he'll post inappropriate comments when he's had too much to drink.

When asked whether he'd sign up to the site, he told Variety: "[No,] just because I like to have a drink at night. I could easily say something stupid, and I also don't think you need to be that available."

The 52-year-old actor also admitted he can't imagine his friends Brad Pitt, 50, or Matt Damon, 43, joining Twitter either because neither of them have any interest in sharing their thoughts on the site, which sees each post limited to just 140 characters.

He joked: "I don't see Matt or Brad or myself wanting to get our thoughts out in a 140-character-thing at three in the morning.

"God forbid, you take a sleeping pill and wake up and the sentences don't even make sense. What a horrible idea."

George has previously branded celebrities "a moron" for using Twitter as a way of reaching out to their fans.

He said: "I think anyone who is famous is a moron if they're on Twitter. It's just stupid."

A trial date has been set for Justin Bieber in Miami for his recent arrest on charges of driving under the influence, resisting arrest and driving with an invalid license.

The March 3 date for the three misdemeanours was set Tuesday by an automated court system. Bieber's attorneys have filed a written plea of not guilty. Initial trial dates are often delayed.

The 19-year-old pop star from Stratford, Ont., was arrested Jan. 23 in Miami Beach after what police called an illegal drag race between two exotic sports cars driven by Bieber and R&B singer Khalil Amir Sharieff. Sharieff was also arrested on a DUI charge.

Breath tests showed Bieber's blood alcohol content below the .02 threshold for underage drivers. Police say a toxicology test detected marijuana and Xanax in his system.

Olivia Newton John is set to headline her own Las Vegas show.

The 65-year-old singer - famed for appearing alongside John Travolta as Sandy in the 1978 film adaptation of 'Grease!' - will perform classic songs from the musical in addition to her own pop singles, when her residency at the Donny and Marie Showroom in The Flamingo Hotel kicks off on April 8.

According to USA TODAY the show - named 'Summer Nights' - will run for 45 nights with dates scheduled throughout the summer, and fans will enjoy iconic 'Grease!' hits such as 'Hopelessly Devoted to You' and 'You're the One That I Want'.

Olivia is the latest to headline a show in Las Vegas, as Shania Twain and Donny and Marie Osmond all have concerts in Sin City, while Britney Spears began her two-year residency at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino last November.

If successful, the series of concerts could prove lucrative for Olivia as Celine Dion has seemingly been cashing in from her residency at Caesars Palace over the last three years.

The 'My Heart Will Go On Singer' reportedly earns £33 million a year from her Las Vegas shows and announced last March she would be extending her residency for another five years.

Taylor Swift will never pose naked for a photo shoot.

The '22' singer has no intention of stripping off for a magazine or in her videos like many of her pop rivals, such as Miley Cyrus and Rihanna, because she doesn't think it's necessary for her to "push the envelope" by revealing her body.

Speaking in the March issue of America's Glamour magazine, Taylor said: "I find it relatively easy to keep my clothes on because I don't really feel like taking them off. It's not an urge I have. For me 'risky' is revealing what really happened in my life through music. Risky is writing confessional songs and telling the true story about a person with enough details so everyone knows who that person is. That's putting myself out there, maybe even more than taking my shirt off."

The 23-year-old musician also revealed she likes to have the upper hand when it comes to dating and will often "freeze-out" guys from her life who she believes are playing with her emotions.

Taylor - whose ex-boyfriends include One Direction hunk Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Lautner and John Mayer - explained: "[What's freeze-out?] You don't respond to any of his texts or calls until he does something desperate [like] shows up. Or he calls and leaves a voicemail. Something that makes it very clear to you that he's interested."

Taylor - who is currently in the UK on her 'RED' tour - can quickly tell if a guy is a game player and if she suspects a man of playing her then she will stop dating him straight away.

She said: "I think everyone should approach relationships from the perspective of playing it straight and giving someone the benefit of the doubt. Until he establishes that this is a game. And if it's a game, you need to win. The best thing to do is just walk away from the table."

'Desperate Housewives' Shawn Pyfrom has revealed his battle with drugs and alcohol.

The 27-year-old actor has talked about his battles with addiction in the wake of the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman, who was found dead of an apparent drug overdose in New York yesterday (02.02.14).

Shawn - who played character Marcia Cross' son Andrew Van de Kamp in the TV series - wrote on his Tumblr blog: "I just read the news about mr. philip seymour hoffman, and against the advise of others; i had to write this open letter. i can't stay quiet anymore about this...

"i am an alcoholic and a drug addict. and yesterday i celebrated five months of sobriety. i'm relatively new to being sober, considering the scope of time that i've been an addict.

"My head is still spinning from the news. i even question whether or not i should publish this, as i type out these words. but if these words can encourage someone to hold on to their life... to keep from ever using, or to find the strength to stop; then it's more important that these words are shared.(sic)"

Shawn didn't say exactly what drugs he had been taking, or for how long, but detailed how it had consumed him.

He wrote: "for several years, i lived for drugs. i lived for other things as well. but drugs dictated the other things i lived for. i thought more about using, than i thought about any other "pleasures". i put myself in places i never would have ended up, otherwise, for the sake of getting high. there are countless nights of blacking out, and making poor decisions as a result of my overusing. (sic)"

Shawn added he has felt much better since giving up his vices and now he "wake[s] up looking forward to my days, rather than looking for a way to get through them."

Carly Rae Jepsen felt "emotional" when she tried on Cinderella's glass slippers for the first time.

The 'Call Me Maybe' hitmaker is taking the lead role in the rags-to-riches fairytale on New York's Broadway and was thrilled the iconic footwear fitted her the first time she tried the shoes on.

Discussing wearing the shoes for the first time, she told MTV News: "It was surprisingly emotional. I think that it's just such a classic tale and the shoes are so much a focal point to the whole thing and they were like, 'What size are you?' And I was just really happy that it actually fit. I was like it would be a bad omen if my first try, the size is off, but it did fit."

And the 28-year-old star - who makes her debut in the production tonight (04.02.14) - also admitted she is worried she won't be able to keep her emotions in check during the scene where her character goes to the ball in a horse-drawn carriage.

She said: "Every single time this scene happens, I feel like balling like a baby. It's so emotional, and she's flying through the sky in the scene to get to the palace to meet Prince Charming. It's every girl's fantasy."

Despite her excitement, Carly admits she feels "intimidated" by the huge production, which is making its debut in the famous theater district.

She said: "It's a huge learning curve for me, but it's intimidating in a lot of ways as well. It's 24 hours and I sleep, I have dreams about Cinderella. Luckily, I have good people around me."

Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Collective Soul shot to international fame with their 1993 release Hints, Allegations and Things Left Unsaid, and their mega #1 hit “Shine.” The album was a collection of Ed Roland’s demos that spread quickly through the college underground circuit and caught fire, going on to achieve Double-Platinum status. After having been invited to the 25th Anniversary Woodstock concert, Collective Soul went into the studio to record their sophomore follow up. The self-titled Collective Soul, released in March of 1995, became the album that helped define their sound of catchy melodies and guitar driven songs. Containing four outstanding singles (three of which reached #1), “December,” “The World I Know,” “Where The River Flows,” and “Gel,” it became Collective Soul’s highest selling album to date. The album went Triple-Platinum and spent 76 weeks on the Billboard Top 200 charts.

In 2014 Collective Soul plans to release their much-anticipated 8th studio album in celebration of the band’s 20th anniversary followed by an extensive tour.

In 2007 the band made an exclusive deal with all Target stores to be the sole seller of their 7th studio album, Afterwords. The fans responded, opening at #25 on the Billboard Comprehensive Albums Chart and #5 on the Billboard Top Internet Albums Chart, proving Collective Soul was now conquering the digital world. The album was later released worldwide on El Music Group.

At the play's centre are Doug Brown as the dashing investigator Richard Hannay (Noises Off,  Streetcar Named Desire) and Michelle Hussey (Streetcar,  Brighton Beach Memoirs) as the beautiful, albeit mysterious leading lady.

Leslie says, “It's sort of the fun of Noises Off and Spamalot combined with an homage to the film noir that Alfred Hitchcock made famous. The challenge of all the roles and all the locations and the necessity of the precise comic timing that farces require intrigue and excite me artistically... plus it is going to be a laugh riot"

Mila Kunis "looked like part of the family" at Ashton Kutcher's brother's wedding.

The 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' star and her boyfriend went to St. Simons Island in Georgia, US, to attend the wedding of Ashton's twin brother, Michael, to Kate Hightower on Saturday (02.01.14).

An onlooker told E! news Ashton looked "chill and comfortable" during the ceremony, adding Mila also looked very comfortable and relaxed among Ashton's relatives.

A reception was held at the same location as the ceremony, a private residence, with guests spending the night in a cottage house.

The source added: "Overall it appeared everyone had a great time."

Mila, 30, and Ashton, 35, are getting to be old hands at being wedding guests, as last year they attended her brother's wedding to ballet dancer Alexandra Blacker in Florida.

Despite engagement rumors, Mila has previously claimed she isn't interested in getting married herself.

She said: "I would love to find 'The One'. But I'm not sure about marriage. I see no need. I'll be with somebody because I want to, not because a piece of paper tells me I have to. That said, if the love of my life thinks it's important, then fine, I'll get married."

Miley Cyrus doesn't mind if people don't buy her 'Bangerz' album.

The 'Wrecking Ball' singer claims she wouldn't have cared if her latest record - which was a number one album in the US, Australia and the UK - wasn't a huge seller as she is comfortable financially and more interested in making an artistic statement with her music.

The former child star told W magazine: "I've made my money. If no one buys my album, cool. It's fine. I've got a house, and I've got dogs that I love. I don't need anything else."

Miley, 21, may be seen as a hard-partying figure with her notorious live appearances in skimpy outfits with her tongue hanging out, but she insists when she is at home in California she rarely goes out.

She added: "I never leave the house. Why go to a movie? I've got a huge-ass TV. We've got a chef here that can make you great food. We don't need to leave. I would just rather be here where I'm completely locked in."

Miley recently gave similar advice to Justin Bieber - who's wild behavior sees him currently face legal troubles in Los Angeles, Miami and Toronto - urging him to keep his partying on his own property.

She advised: "Pay people to make sure you don't get in trouble and party at your house, buy a house, and add a club to it."

Lady Gaga has praised Britney Spears for her Las Vegas show.

The 'Applause' hitmaker was seen dancing and blowing kisses at Planet Hollywood Casino and Resort, yesterday (02.02.14) after joining the 'Work Bitch' singer's manager Larry Rudolph in the VIP section of her concert.

Taking to Twitter, Gaga gushed: "Me and Brit Brit <3 #Applause4Britney @britneyspears we had so much fun at your show! (sic)"

Gaga also posted a picture to her website Littlemonsters.com posing alongside Britney - who was dressed in a revealing jewel encrusted outfit - before revealing the singer's father, Jamie Spears had provided her with a tasty meal.

She added: "She looked so gorgeous, the show was so much fun, and her dad gave us THE BEST BBQ. It was a #MonsterParty! (sic) "

The meeting between the pair has reignited speculation of collaboration, after Gaga called for a duet via Twitter in December saying "its time" they work together.

Britney - who is one month into a two-year Las Vegas residency - had previously expressed her interest in teaming up with the 'Born This Way' singer during a live Q&A last year.

She said: "I would do a duet with Lady Gaga. I think that would be a lot of fun. I think she's very different and interesting and intricate."
