The SteelDrivers CHIRP concert scheduled for tonight in Ballard Park has been moved to the rain venue, St. Stephen’s church at 351 Main Street.

It’s the Nashville, Tenn., band’s first time in Ridgefield.
Writes Barbara Manners, CHIRP producer, “Seasoned session musicians all, this group released its first album in 2008, The SteelDrivers, and its second, Reckless in 2010. As a result of those CDs, the band was nominated for three Grammys, four IBMA awards and the Americana Music Association’s New Artist of the Year. They were presented the International Bluegrass Music Association’s award for Emerging Artist of the Year in 2009. The concert has been underwritten in part by Ron Rucolas of Ridgefield Pet. Its rain venue is St. Stephen’s Church, 351 Main Street.
“Four tracks from the SteelDrivers were featured in the movie Get Low that starred Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek and Bill Murray. In 2011 the English pop star Adele began performing the SteelDrivers song If It Hadn’t Been for Love in her live performances. The band has been invited to perform on numerous radio and TV shows ranging from The Grand Ole Opry to NPR’s Mountain Stage to the Conan O’Brien show.
