SAM Concepcion is no stranger to the entertainment scene.
At the tender age of nine, he had already performed in the theatrical productions of Peter Pan, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, and Mr. Noah’s Big Boat.
Later on, he appeared in movies like I Do Bidoo Bidoo and Shake Rattle and Roll 13, as well as in TV shows like Super Inggo and Angelito Batang Ama.
But the 21-year-old actor-singer admits that he yearns for the concert stage.
After marking his 16th birthday in 2008 with his first solo concert at the Music Museum, Mr. Concepcion returns to the same venue this Saturday night.
More determined, more experienced, and -- as he put it -- more matured, Mr. Concepcion promises to show his evolution as a young performer in the concert titled No Limitations.
“No Limitations” is also the title of the carrier single of his latest solo album, Infinite. Singer-TV host Billy Crawford composed the song.
“It has been a long time since I have done a major concert, so I am very, very excited,” Mr. Concepcion told reporters in a press conference last month. “It will surely be an unforgettable night of good singing and dancing,” he added.
The concert promises to be an all-out fan pleaser with Mr. Concepcion performing his biggest hits, including his version of “Mahal na Mahal,” which was first recorded by Archie Dairocas.
He is also set to perform “Dati,” which won best song in last year’s Philippine Popular Music Festival (PhilPop).
Paolo Valenciano, vocalist of the band Salamin, is the concert’s stage director, while Marvin Querido is the musical director. Kevin Intal from the La Salle Dance Company will choreograph Mr. Concepcion’s dance numbers for the concert.
“It will be a concert that my fans will totally enjoy,” Mr. Concepcion said. “We will celebrate years of friendship, love and good music,” he added.
Tickets for No Limitations cost P1,730.40; P1,153.60; and P576.80. Call TicketWorld at 891-9999 or Music Museum at 721-6726 for details.
