The MMG bawse and owner of nine Wingstop franchises across the country revealed to Angie Martinez on Power 105.1 on Wednesday that he recently met with the Miami Dolphins to inquire about owning a "small percentage" of the team.
"I went and sat down with the Miami Dolphins. We discussed a few things. You know, I’ve been interested in trying to buy a small percentage of the Dolphins for a long time," Rozay explained. "They finally invited me into the office, I sat with some people…it was a real positive conversation."
Ross didn’t disclose whether or not the investment will be made, but he did mention that the Dolphins have questions for him and that "they ultimately decide if the time is now."
The Miami-bred MC also divulged that at the end of his meeting with the Dolphins, their front office personnel led him onto the field, where, out of excitement, he accidentally dragged his feet through the freshly-painted end zone, smearing its design.
"I hope they don’t hold that against me, baby! Fins for life!" Ross said with a smile.
If Ross does buy into a small piece of the Dolphins, he’d join the likes of Nelly, who owns a small percentage of the Charlotte Hornets, Usher, who’s a minority owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Jay Z, who formerly owned a small piece of the Brooklyn Nets before having to sell his share to be involved with Roc Nation Sports and the sports agent market.
