‘Rhapsody’ festival features eclectic music groups

The annual Rhapsody in Green Festival begins Friday and runs through Sunday.

Events will be held on Island Park in Elkhart.

Hours for entertainment events will be Friday, 5 to 11:30 p.m.; Saturday, noon to 11:30 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 8 p.m. An entrance fee of $1 will be collected at the three entrances to Island Park after 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday night. A percentage of the collected monies will be given to local charity, Santa’s Pantry.

Also on Friday will be a free outdoor movie shown in Bicentennial Park. The movie will be “The Avengers,” and those attending are invited to dress as up as their favorite character.

There will also be handcrafted items and commercial vendors selling items during the weekend.

1 p.m. — New Horizons Band, a senior concert band.

2:30 p.m. — Memberz Only, playing pop, rock, blues and jazz.

4:30 p.m. — J. R. Clark & The All Star Blues Mob, playing blues music.

6:30 p.m. — Johnny Sprocket, playing rock and oldies.

9 p.m. — Touch, playing Motown-style music.

Noon — Fishers of Men, playing Christian music.

1 p.m. — Adrienne Frailey, playing alternative/contemporary folk music.

2:30 p.m. — Jazz Assemblage, presenting a big band sound.

4 p.m. — Truth in Jazz, presenting a big band sound.

5:30 p.m. — VibeNation, playing jazz, swing, Latin, ballads and bebop.
