Jordin Sparks is maintaining a positive attitude following her split with Jason Derulo

Just one day after E! News exclusively reported that the former couple has called it quits after three years of dating, the 24-year-old "Battlefield" beauty broke her silence on the split, taking to Twitter to share an inspirational message with her 4.12 million followers.

"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened," she wrote this morning, adding a heart emoji to her post.

Hours after the breakup news broke, the "Talk Dirty" singer opened up to KDWB-FM's Big D about pair's decision to pull the plug on their romance, saying there's no bad blood between the two and adding that the former longtime couple will remain friends.

"Yeah, everything is cool, man," he said. "It's not a bad situation. You know, it's not one of those kinda things."

Jordin and Jason took their romance public in January 2012, but they were first romantically linked as a couple in September 2011.

While it's unclear, exactly when the musical twosome officially parted ways, the pair hit the red carpet together at the MTV Video Music Awards last month, where they sporting matching all-white ensembles, and Sparks was cheering on Derulo from the audience when he sat in as a guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance earlier this summer.

The two have also been at the center of engagement speculation for some time after Derulo penned his 2013 hit "Marry Me" for the American Idol winner, who also starred in the music video, in which he proposed to his former ladylove.

Asked at the beginning of August if he was planning on popping the question anytime soon, Derulo told E! News, "When the time is right, for sure."

Wishing them both all the best.
