Fort Hawkins Repels Stoneman’s Raid

George Stoneman attacked Macon but was repelled at what became known as the Battle of Dunlap Hill, or Stoneman’s Raid, and created Macon’s Cannonball House. Visitors will see one of the actual cannons used in Macon’s defense at that time and will have a real living history experience with re-enactors from the Widow Makers Mess.
