Names+Faces: DTE, Meadow Brook offer $20 concert tickets
A Fourth of July-themed promotion will give fans a chance to grab summer concert tickets on the cheap.
Tickets will be discounted to $20 for nearly two dozen shows at DTE Energy Music Theatre and Meadow Brook Music Festival, promoters announced Monday. The price includes parking and service fees.
Shows include Aerosmith (Sept. 9), Rascal Flatts (Sept. 21), Ted Nugent (July 19) and Kings of Leon (Aug. 1). A full list is at Freep.com.
The sale will run from 10 a.m. Tuesday through late Sunday night, available only online at Ticketmaster.com.
Queen B tops the list
Beyoncé has been named the most powerful celebrity in the world on the annual Forbes Celebrity 100 list.
The 32-year-old has her massive tour to thank for helping her beat out LeBron James, Dr Dre and even Oprah.
According to Forbes, the star amassed a small fortune from her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour 2014, which made on average an amazing $2.4 million at each one of its 95 stops.
Beyoncé also made the top with her entrepreneurial pursuits, including partnerships with H&M and Pepsi, and her clothing and fragrance lines.
In all, the pop star made what Forbes estimated $115 million between June 1, 2013 and June 1, 2014.
Leary & FX & dark comedy
“Rescue Me” star Denis Leary is returning to FX with a new comedy.
Leary will produce and star in “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll,” a 10-episode series that follows Johnny Rock (Leary), a middle-aged rocker trying to reunite his band two decades after he blew a chance at stardom because of his addiction to booze, drugs and other band members’ significant others.
The show, which will be produced in New York and is set to premiere in 2015, also stars John Corbett, Elizabeth Gillies, Elaine Hendrix and Bobby Kelly. The dark comedy will feature original music and occasional appearances by real rock stars.
She's the Ice, but is he the Fire?
There’s still no word on when the sixth installment in George R.R. Martin’s epic “A Song of Ice and Fire” saga (that’s “Game of Thrones” to you TV viewers), but the author has revealed some details for the upcoming “Winds of Winter.”
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Martin spills the beans about when two fan-favorite characters — Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) — finally meet.
“Well, Tyrion and Dany will intersect, in a way, but for much of the book they’re still apart. They both have quite large roles to play here. ... So they’re both coming home.”
And, presumably, they’re both still alive.
Z to A not happening
Zendaya has backed out of her starring role in the Lifetime movie about Aaliyah.
The 17-year-old Disney Channel star is no longer involved in the project, a rep for the actress confirmed Sunday.
The news of her departure comes less than two weeks after it was first announced that Zendaya would portray the singer in the Lifetime biopic, tentatively titled “Aaliyah: Princess of R&B.” Filming was to begin this summer, and the network hoped for a fall release.
People picks a spicy bachelor
“True Blood” star Joe Manganiello has been named People’s sexiest bachelor.
“I am part Sicilian,” he tells People in this week’s cover story. “I am passionate. I am a hot-blooded person. If you don’t like spicy, then maybe I’m not for you.”
Does he believe in love at first sight?
“I think the crazy love that you fall into in the beginning turns into ‘like’ and ‘need.’ Chris Rock told me that!” says the Pittsburgh native, who is set to reprise his role as a stripper in the upcoming “Magic Mike” sequel.

■ It’s a good thing boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has Justin Bieber in his corner. Floyd was on the red carpet Sunday afternoon for the BET Awards when he got word his kids were in a bad crash in L.A. Mayweather happened to be on the phone with Bieber at the time. Bieber happened to be in an SUV not too far away from the crash. He raced to the scene where he picked up the kids, none of whom was hurt, and took them to their dad, TMZ reports.
■ Princess Leia Carrie Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd has reportedly been cast in “Star Wars: Episode VII.” Lourd, 21, will feature in flashback scenes as a younger version of the princess.
■ Keeley Hawes (“Upstairs, Downstairs”) is to star in the TV version of J.?K. Rowling’s novel “The Casual Vacancy.” Hawes will join Michael Gambon (“Harry Potter”) in the three-part BBC-HBO drama about dark secrets behind the net curtains of the fictional village of Pagford.
■ After 10 years, “Kitchen Nightmares” is finally coming to an end, but for many restaurants that appeared on the show, the real nightmare continues. According to Grub Street New York, more than 60% of the restaurants featured on the U.S. version of “Kitchen Nightmares” are now closed.
■ WJR-FM (760) is adding the public service show “It’s Your Community” to its weekend line-up. After many years on WDRQ-FM (93.1) and WDVD-FM (96.3), “It’s Your Community” will be heard on WJR at 5:30 a.m. Sundays.
