At the Critics’ Choice Television Awards on Thursday, Allison Janney nabbed two prizes — but she had to share one.
The veteran actress won for best guest performer in a drama for her work on Showtime’s “Masters of Sex,” and she split best supporting actress in a comedy with Kate Mulgrew (“Orange Is the New Black” on Netflix) for her work in CBS’s “Mom.” Other big winners included FX’s “Fargo,” which won for best miniseries, best actor in a movie or miniseries (Billy Bob Thornton), and best supporting actress in a movie or miniseries (newcomer Allison Tolman), and HBO’s “The Normal Heart,” which took home best movie and best supporting actor in a movie or miniseries (Matt Bomer).
“Orange Is the New Black” was named best comedy season, while Jim Parsons (“Big Bang Theory”) and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (“Veep”) took the top comedy acting awards.
The best drama was “Breaking Bad,” with Matthew McConaughey (“True Detective”) and Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black”) named top actors.
The real 'SBTB' story?
In 2009, Dustin Diamond (Screech)wrote “Behind the Bell,” a scandalous tell-all that reportedly revealed what life was like on the set of “Saved by the Bell,” NBC’s still-beloved series that ran in 1989-1993.
Now, thanks to hours of brand-new interviews, the real story will be brought to life in “The Unauthorized ‘Saved by the Bell’ Story,” a new Lifetime movie that promises to change the way that fans look at the classic kids’ comedy.
The movie will air Sept. 1.
'Bad' spin-off renewed
AMC has already renewed its “Breaking Bad” spin-off, “Better Call Saul,” for a 13-episode second season, months before the highly anticipated premiere.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the network has pushed the hour-long drama from November to early 2015.
Filming is already under way in Albuquerque on the 10-episode first season, with creator Vince Gilligan helming the pilot.
“Better Call Saul” will explore the time leading up to the unflappable Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) establishing his strip-mall law office in New Mexico.
Films get incentives
The Michigan Film Office announces the feature films “Paid in Full” and “Heartlock” have been approved for film incentives from the state. “Paid in Full” will begin production this month in Novi and will also do all post-production work in Michigan.
“Paid in Full” was awarded an incentive of $48,457 on $157,373 of projected in-state expenditures.
“Heartlock,” which includes locations in Jackson and the Standish Correctional Facility, was approved for an incentive of $139,568 on $503,150 of projected expenditures in the state.

■ “Selma,” the Oprah Winfrey-produced drama about the landmark 1965 civil rights march, will get a limited release Dec. 25 before opening wide Jan. 9.
