Tickets for Augusta shows on sale Friday
A night of laughs and a week of art are on Augusta’s schedule this fall.
Comedian Rickey Smiley will headline a show at The Bell Auditorium in September.
Folk and rock musician Amos Lee will head up one of the shows during this October’s Westobou Festival.
Tickets for both performances will go on sale this Friday.
Smiley
Smiley will be bringing his “unique blend of comedy and originality” to the Bell Auditorium at 8 p.m. on Sept. 20.
Doors will open at 7 p.m.
Tickets of $65, $55, $45 and $35 will go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m.
Smiley has hosted his own morning TV show as well as has appeared in movies like “Stomp The Yard 2: Homecoming” and TV programs like “Showtime at the Apollo.”
He has also released several comedy CDs and DVDs.
“With the distinct ability to take everyday observations and turn them into comedic gold, Smiley is a standout in the entertainment world,” according to a release.
The Bell Auditorium is at 712 Telfair St., Augusta.

Westobou
The annual Westobou Festival in downtown Augusta highlights the area’s talent in “dance, music, film, spoken words and visual arts,” according to a release.
It will run from Oct. 1 to 5.
On Oct. 3, Lee will play with R&B and soul artist Allen Stone and Augusta names Patrick Davis and The Ramblin’ Fevers.
The concert will be at the Parade Grounds at the Old Academy of Richmond County, 540 Telfair St.
Tickets of $25 will go on sale on Friday.
VIP tickets of $100 and college-student and active military tickets of $5 will also be available. Both options will be offered in limited amounts.
College student and active military tickets must be purchased with a current ID at the office, 965 Broad St.
Tickets the day of the show will be $35.
Children ages 5 and younger will be admitted for free.
Lee released his first CD 10 years ago and has toured with the likes of Bob Dylan and Paul Simon.
Stone calls himself a “hippie with soul” and has appeared on shows like “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
Davis has worked with fellow Augusta-celebrated musicians Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker, while The Ramblin’ Fevers are touring around the Southeast.
