Marilyn Manson joins 'Sons of Anarchy' cast for show's final ride

FX's dark drama "Sons of Anarchy" is adding a real-life wild child to the cast: singer and actor Marilyn Manson.

In this fall's final season of "Sons," Manson will have a recurring role as Ron Tully, a white supremacist who has become a big man in prison.

He makes an alliance of convenience with Jax Teller, played by Charlie Hunnam.

While Manson is best known as a singer, he has made frequent appearances in movies and TV shows, from "Bowling for Columbine" to "Californication."

He says he's a big fan of "Sons."

"'Sons' has been such a big part of my life, as well as my father's," he said in a statement. "So I was determined to make him proud by being involved in what will probably be remembered as the most amazing piece of television cinema. After all, the very heart of 'SOA' is about that relationship. So now, all I need is a motorcycle."

"Sons" has become one of FX's most popular shows over the years.

Manson is best known for selling millions of records and provoking outrage with 1990s hard rock albums like "Antichrist Superstar" and "Mechanical Animals."

His music and onstage flamboyance made him a lightning rod for controversy — as did the fact that he and everyone else in his band created their names using a combination of a glamour queen and a serial killer.

Manson has been the target of a number of lawsuits and legal actions, including a 2001 case in which he was booked on felony charges for allegedly rubbing his genitals on a security guard's head during a concert.

The charge was subsequently reduced to a misdemeanor.

He also defended himself against charges that his music contributed to the suicide of a 15-year-old fan.

Manson has admitted to alcohol and drug problems over the years and while he says he has focused on acting the last few years, he just released a new record with which he has been touring.
