Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The following is a roundup of 13 Things To Do This Week On The Strip for April 2 through 9:
1. Olivia Newton-John will be heating up the showroom at the Flamingo Las Vegas when her show "Summer Nights" opens April 8. The beloved internationally-renowned singer-actress, along with an 8-piece band, will take audiences on a musical journey through her life in film and music. Fans of the movie "Grease" will not leave disappointed. The movie, which celebrated its 35th anniversary last year, is sure to play a significant role in Newton-John's new show. There will be a welcome ceremony at 2 p.m. April 2. The public is invited to attend.
2. It's two comedians for the price of one! Ray Romano and Kevin James will bring their unique brands of comedy to the Terry Fator Theatre at The Mirage April 4-6. Romano is best known for the television show "Raymond," which sprang from his stand-up comedy act. James got his start in TV on Romano's show after appearing in the 1996 "Just For Laughs" comedy festival in Montreal.
3. The post-apocalyptic, psychedelic adventure known as Empire of the Sun will take over The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan on April 9. Their album "Walking On A Dream" sold a million-plus copies worldwide. Empire Sun's performance is the first in the hotel-casino's Valley to Vegas: Spring Concert Series. Upcoming shows include Grouplove, Lana Del Rey, Young The Giant, Lorde and more.
4. Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban are headlining the 2nd annual ACM Party for a Cause Festival April 4 and 5 at The LINQ. Other country stars scheduled to perform include Joe Nichols, Jerrod Niemann, Thomas Rhett, Chris Young, The Cadillac Three, Joel Crouse, Lee Brice and many other. The two-day festival takes place before the 49th Academy of Country Music Awards show on April 6.
5. Looking for afternoon entertainment on the Las Vegas Strip? Celebrity magician and "America's Got Talent" semifinalist Murray brings his unique sense of humor and magic to Tropicana Las Vegas. Show times are at 4 p.m.
6. Every once in a while, a restaurant needs to reinvent its menu. The Hard Rock Cafe has done that after 14 months of research, development and customer evaluation. The new menu (at both locations) features an addition of 30 new items and the modification of 28 existing items. Every garnish and ingredient was put under scrutiny during the process. For example, more than 27 types of buns were sampled before the final brioche bun for its burgers was selected. They didn't stop there though. They have also updated their plates, glasses and serving dishes. Check them out and let us know what you think.
7. 800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza officially opens this week at 11 a.m. at the Monte Carlo hotel-casino. This groundbreaking build-your-own pizza concept has grown to a cult status throughout Los Angeles and now it is coming to Las Vegas. 800 Degrees focuses on using the highest quality of ingredients and the traditional Neapolitan cooking method. The restaurant will have 120 total seats inside a 3,000-square-foot dining room and a 1,000-square-foot outdoor patio.
8. Have you ever wanted a sneak peek behind the scenes of the Blue Man Group at the Monte Carlo? Now is your chance. They are offering an in-depth exploration of their award-winning show for only $299 per person. It's not just a tour though, those who sign up will also receive a one-of-a-kind music lesson on the show's signature PVC instruments, learn how to master Blue Man Group's famous marshmallow toss and more. Guests are also encouraged to bring their cameras. In addition, the package includes a premium view ticket to any performance, a private meet-and-greet with the cast, one free drink, a show T-shirt and a signature souvenir. 9. Outdoor adventurers, gun enthusiasts and hunters are invited to check out the Rocky Mountain Gun Show at the South Point Arena and Equestrian Center April 5 and 6. The first 200 guests will receive a special door buster prize. In addition, 4 gun show attendees will take home a free gun.
10. There can never be too much laughter and a new comedy club is determined to bring more to Las Vegas. The Bonkerz Comedy Club will open April 4 at the Silver Sevens hotel-casino. Dan Napolitano, known for his appearances on ABC's "Good Morning America," will kick off the fun with performances April 4 and 5 and April 11 and 12. Tickets are only $10 per person and include one drink.
11. Still hungry? Comme Ca by David Meyers inside The Cosmopolitan is launching a new spring outdoor dining experience titled Brasserie, Burgers and Oysters from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays beginning April 9. Each week, guests will be treated to a market-driven menu inspired by Parisian bistros and the famed Comme Ca Burger. All burger orders will be paired with one signature 18A cocktail or two beers for $19. Oysters can be added to the meal for $1.25 each.
12. UNLVino, a major fundraiser for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, kicks off April 9. The annual event, now in its 40th year, features several smaller events at various Strip restaurants. The first one -- Sip & Savor -- takes place April 9 at Spago inside the Forum Shops. Other events follow on April 10, 11 and 12. Ticket prices vary by event, ranging from $100 to $275.
13. The time has come to drink up and show respect to the beer. National Beer Day will be celebrated April 7 at the Rockhouse, inside the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian/The Palazzo. The ultra-dive bar will commemorate the day with two-for-one beers all day until midnight.
