Muscat: Patrons of yesteryears' golden tunes had much to celebrate as the Pyarelal concert, organised by the Roar entertainment, at Majan Ballroom, Al Bustan Palace Hotel, A Ritz Carlton property, charmed the musical soul of everyone present in the event.

The singers Supriya, Abhilasha, Pankaj and Pravesh performing in the event were talented Indian singers who all started their careers through Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, an Indian musical reality TV game show.
The musical evening started with the female singer Abhilasha singing to Satyam Shivam Sundaram from the Bollywood movie Satyam Shivam Sundaram and set the mood for the evening. Seeing the legendary musical maestro Pyarelal live in concert was a visual treat. Then the singers belted out an array of famous Hindi Bollywood songs from the 90s era like Aaj mausam bada beimaan hai, Dard-de dil dard e jigar, Bindiya chamkegi, Main shayar toh nahi, Ek pyar ka nagma hai and lots more.

On one hand where the audience were mesmerised and in trance on hearing the slow, romantic songs they were also invigorated hearing the energetic ones such as Parda hai parda and Main jat yamla pagla deewana. The audience swayed to the lively, foot-tapping songs rendered by them and one could see the audience following them or at least lip-syncing.

The band accompanying Pyarelal also charmed the audience as their performance was par excellence.
The magical evening came to an end with the riveting band performance on the musical piece of the movie Karz. For all those who attended, it was a great experience to see the legendary Pyarelal in action for the first time.
Laxmikant–Pyarelal were a popular Indian composer duo, consisting of Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar (1937–1998) and Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma (born September 3, 1940). They composed music for about 635 Hindi movies from 1963 to 1998, working for almost all notable filmmakers including Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, B. R. Chopra, Shakti Samanta, Manmohan Desai, Yash Chopra, Subhash Ghai and Manoj Kumar.
Pyarelal was the son of a renowned trumpeter Pandit Ramprasad Sharma (popularly known as Babaji), who taught him the basics of music. The team of Laxmikant–Pyarelal and lyricist Anand Bakshi churned out some of the most popular songs in Hindi cinema's history.
The combo composed songs for more than 250 movies. Anand Bakshi was the lyricist who wrote the maximum number of texts Laxmikant–Pyarelal gave music to. He was actually the lyricist for all the films for which Laxmikant–Pyarelal won Filmfare Awards, except their very first award. Laxmikant–Pyarelal composed Indian classical music as well as Western music. But they were most popular for their folk tunes and semi-classical music.
Although not as a rule, Laxmikant mostly looked after vocals and Pyarelal used to take care of orchestration. Both had vast knowledge of various music genres, musical instruments and orchestra management.
