Three nationally known performers share a lifetime of traditions in this powerful mountain string band- soaring vocals, sweet harmonies, banjo, fiddle, guitar, feet-a lively engaging show full of historic content & fun.

Both Adams (2013 NEA fellow) & Rifkin performed with legendary NC fiddler Tommy Jarrell-his legacy shines through in their music & stories, both were in the movie "Songcatcher." Jeanette Queen’s powerful vocals & playing reprise her famed mother’s legacy. Their 30+ year friendship, engaging wit & the joy with which they embrace the music & culture is a sight to behold.

Sheila Kay Adams: The 2013 recipient of the nation’s highest honor in traditional music, Sheila was presented the NEA Fellowship Award on September 25 in Washington, DC. The multi-instrumentalist, ballad singer & noted author grew up in Madison County & carries on the traditions of a disappearing lifestyle in the region. Jeanette Queen: One of the legendary Queen Family, she learned to play & sing in their Jackson County, NC band. The daughter of the late 2007 National Heritage Award winner Mary Jane Queen & Claude Queen, Jeanette grew up 1 of 8 children in the mountain wilds, with music ever-present in the home & carries forward seven generations of traditions as she sings mountains in her powerful clear voice. www.blueridgeheritage.com/queen-family

Carol Rifkin: Joyously sharing traditional music, writing songs, exploring the role of women in mountain music, teaching dance or engaging people to sing along; this award winning multi-instrumentalist’s soaring sweet voice is uniquely recognizable on stage or radio (WNCW).
