Kelowna Actors Studio continues their 10th season with The 39 Steps; Adapted by Patrick Barlow, from the novel by John Buchan, from the movie of Alfred Hitchcock.

Loaded with references to famous Hitchcock films, plus hilarious slapstick and a gripping spy plot, The 39 Steps is a delight for film-buffs, theatre-goers and anyone ready to laugh! You truly can't miss this 2-time Tony® and Drama Desk Award-‐winning whodunit.

Randy Leslie, Artistic Managing Director teams up with Kelowna Actors Studios impeccable cast of just four to create a stellar interpretation of this Hitchcock masterpiece with an on stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers, and some good old fashioned romance!

In The 39 Steps, Richard Hannay—a man with a boring life—finds himself on an extraordinary and entertaining adventure when a quickly acquainted spy is killed by assassins with a butter knife. Soon, a mysterious organization called "The 39 Steps" is hot on the man's trail in a nationwide manhunt all over Scotland, England, in and around London - on trains and in out of the way manors, that climaxes in a death-defying finale!

A fast-paced, riotous blend of virtuoso performances and wildly inventive stagecraft, The 39 Steps amounts to an unforgettable evening of riotous pleasure!
At the play's centre are Doug Brown as the dashing investigator Richard Hannay (Noises Off,  Streetcar Named Desire) and Michelle Hussey (Streetcar,  Brighton Beach Memoirs) as the beautiful, albeit mysterious leading lady.

Leslie says, “It's sort of the fun of Noises Off and Spamalot combined with an homage to the film noir that Alfred Hitchcock made famous. The challenge of all the roles and all the locations and the necessity of the precise comic timing that farces require intrigue and excite me artistically... plus it is going to be a laugh riot"

Mila Kunis "looked like part of the family" at Ashton Kutcher's brother's wedding.

The 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' star and her boyfriend went to St. Simons Island in Georgia, US, to attend the wedding of Ashton's twin brother, Michael, to Kate Hightower on Saturday (02.01.14).

An onlooker told E! news Ashton looked "chill and comfortable" during the ceremony, adding Mila also looked very comfortable and relaxed among Ashton's relatives.

A reception was held at the same location as the ceremony, a private residence, with guests spending the night in a cottage house.

The source added: "Overall it appeared everyone had a great time."

Mila, 30, and Ashton, 35, are getting to be old hands at being wedding guests, as last year they attended her brother's wedding to ballet dancer Alexandra Blacker in Florida.

Despite engagement rumors, Mila has previously claimed she isn't interested in getting married herself.

She said: "I would love to find 'The One'. But I'm not sure about marriage. I see no need. I'll be with somebody because I want to, not because a piece of paper tells me I have to. That said, if the love of my life thinks it's important, then fine, I'll get married."

Miley Cyrus doesn't mind if people don't buy her 'Bangerz' album.

The 'Wrecking Ball' singer claims she wouldn't have cared if her latest record - which was a number one album in the US, Australia and the UK - wasn't a huge seller as she is comfortable financially and more interested in making an artistic statement with her music.

The former child star told W magazine: "I've made my money. If no one buys my album, cool. It's fine. I've got a house, and I've got dogs that I love. I don't need anything else."

Miley, 21, may be seen as a hard-partying figure with her notorious live appearances in skimpy outfits with her tongue hanging out, but she insists when she is at home in California she rarely goes out.

She added: "I never leave the house. Why go to a movie? I've got a huge-ass TV. We've got a chef here that can make you great food. We don't need to leave. I would just rather be here where I'm completely locked in."

Miley recently gave similar advice to Justin Bieber - who's wild behavior sees him currently face legal troubles in Los Angeles, Miami and Toronto - urging him to keep his partying on his own property.

She advised: "Pay people to make sure you don't get in trouble and party at your house, buy a house, and add a club to it."

Lady Gaga has praised Britney Spears for her Las Vegas show.

The 'Applause' hitmaker was seen dancing and blowing kisses at Planet Hollywood Casino and Resort, yesterday (02.02.14) after joining the 'Work Bitch' singer's manager Larry Rudolph in the VIP section of her concert.

Taking to Twitter, Gaga gushed: "Me and Brit Brit <3 #Applause4Britney @britneyspears we had so much fun at your show! (sic)"

Gaga also posted a picture to her website Littlemonsters.com posing alongside Britney - who was dressed in a revealing jewel encrusted outfit - before revealing the singer's father, Jamie Spears had provided her with a tasty meal.

She added: "She looked so gorgeous, the show was so much fun, and her dad gave us THE BEST BBQ. It was a #MonsterParty! (sic) "

The meeting between the pair has reignited speculation of collaboration, after Gaga called for a duet via Twitter in December saying "its time" they work together.

Britney - who is one month into a two-year Las Vegas residency - had previously expressed her interest in teaming up with the 'Born This Way' singer during a live Q&A last year.

She said: "I would do a duet with Lady Gaga. I think that would be a lot of fun. I think she's very different and interesting and intricate."

Katy Perry has amassed 50 million followers on twitter.

The 'Roar' hitmaker reached the staggering milestone last week after adding a huge 18 million followers over the last 12 months, a feat which has seen her overcome Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga - who have 49.1 million and 41 million followers respectively - to become the most-followed person on the social networking website.

She tweeted at the weekend: "What a raging Friday night! Made a sandwich. Watched The Business of Being Born. Hung out with a cat. #imagrownwomanicandowhateveriwant

"Oh yeah AND we grew to 50 million Katycats! Eh, regular day at the office.(sic)"

Katy used her social media power to urge her fans to follow boyfriend John Mayer following his return to the social networking website.

She wrote: "FOLLOW FRIDAY @JohnMayer who's account has basically been in a coma state for a couple of years. Let's update him on all the cat youtubes he may have missed pls! Thanks!(sic)"

Meanwhile, the 'Gravity' hitmaker admitted he was unsure about returning to the website.

He tweeted: "I used to RULE these hallways...

"I'll be honest, when it came to rejoining twitter, I had mixed emojis.(sic)"

Lindsay Lohan was "shaken up" after being refused entry to a number of nightclubs on Friday (01.31.14).

The troubled actress has reportedly been banned from several New York nightspots following a series of incidents, including claiming her fur coat had been stolen, but still tried to gain admission to two - and was stunned to be turned away.

A source at nightspot 1Oak said: "She stared the doorman down and was surprised that they wouldn't let her in. She was definitely shaken up."

Lindsay also tried to get into new venue Up & Down - where revellers at the weekend included Ryan Phillippe, Bar Refaeli and Paris Hilton - but was again turned away.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "She turned away to her friends and looked really embarrassed."

The 'Mean Girls' star had claimed one half of her two-piece fur coat went missing from inside 1Oak last Wednesday (01.29.14), but the club insisted she hadn't lost anything.

However, the 27-year-old actress got the $75,000 garment back after Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice, who was at Lindsay's table, found the fur and took it home for safe keeping, before Lindsay's representatives picked it up the following day.

Tributes have flooded in for Philip Seymour Hoffman.

The 46-year-old Oscar winner was found dead this morning (02.02.14) of an apparent drugs overdose, and many have rushed to pay their respects to the star, widely regarded as one of the finest actors of his generation.

Mia Farrow wrote on Twitter: "OH NO!!!!! Philip Seymour Hoffman has died. A truly kind, wonderful man and one of our greatest actors - ever."

Actress Andie MacDowell added: "Phillip Seymour Hoffman was not only a genius actor but a kind, generous man RIP."

Philip is survived by his partner, costume designer Mimi O'Donnell, and their three children: Tallulah, seven, Cooper, ten and Willa, five.

Film director Kevin Smith was also upset by the news, writing: "This truly blows. PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN has died ... First noticed him in SCENT OF A WOMAN. Brilliant actor. So sad...(sic)"

Elijah Wood wrote: "Heartbroken and shocked. what a true loss. rest in peace, Philip Seymour Hoffman (sic)"

Comedy actor Jim Carrey added: "Dear Philip, a beautiful beautiful soul. For the most sensitive among us the noise can be too much. Bless your heart."

Philip was highly regarded by actors, directors and audiences and brought a very distinctive presence to the roles he played in films including 'Doubt', 'Synecdoche, New York ', 'Red Dragon', 'Almost Famous', 'The Talented Mr. Ripley' and 'Capote' - for which he won the Best Actor Oscar in 2005.

Philip was last seen on the big screen as Plutarch Heavensbee in 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire', and he had been working on a new comedy-drama TV series, 'Happyish' at the time of his passing.

Alec Baldwin and Cate Blanchett have responded to Dylan Farrow's open letter.

The director's 28-year-old adopted daughter published a letter in the New York Times yesterday (01.02.14) in which she accused her adoptive father, Woody Allen, of sexually assaulting her when she was seven. The letter also asked various actors who had worked with Woody - including Alec and Cate - how they would feel if it was their child.

Responding to a fan asking if he felt he should apologize to Dylan, Alec - who has daughters Ireland, 18, and Carmen, five months - wrote on Twitter: "What the f&@% is wrong w u that u think we all need to b commenting on this family's personal struggle?

"You are mistaken if you think there is a place for me, or any outsider, in this family's issue. (sic)"

Cate - mother to Roman, nine, Ignatius, five and Dashiell, 12 - also said she hopes Allen and the Farrow family can resolve their situation privately.

She told journalist Jeffrey Wells: "It's obviously been a long and painful situation for the family and I hope they find some sort of resolution and peace."

Woody - who was first alleged to have sexually assaulted Dylan in 1993 - has always maintained his innocence and never been prosecuted. He has yet to respond to Dylan's allegations.

Miley Cyrus doesn't know where her engagement ring is.

The 'Wrecking Ball' singer split from fiancee Liam Hemsworth in September last year and claims she doesn't know where the 3.5-carat Neil Lane sparkler he proposed with - estimated to be worth $100,000 - is currently located.

Asked about its whereabouts, Miley replied: "Don't know. Think it's in the shower."

Speaking more seriously, the 21-year-old star added she and Liam, 24, are still on good terms and in contact with each other.

She added to LOVE magazine: "We still talk and communicate. I was with him since I was 16 and nothing's ever going to make that go away. I've known this guy all that time and if it doesn't work out I can still smile and love him and he can love me and that's great, that's the way to be."

Miley and Liam met on the set of romantic drama film 'The Last Song' in 2010 and got engaged when she was just 19. Following their split he told her to keep the ring.

A source said: "[He] wants Miley to keep the ring. He wouldn't ask for it back. Liam told Miley to keep it and do with it what she wanted. He told her to keep it as a memento of their love affair.

"When Liam bought that ring, he truly believed he would be spending the rest of his life with her. Now he realizes they are both just too young to be ready for such a big commitment."

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are selling their $11.5 million London home.

The couple are moving out of the upmarket area of Belsize Park in North London after a series of arguments with their neighbours, who are upset by constant modifications to their property.

A local told the Daily Star newspaper: "We have had years of their building works. They have taken down trees so they can park their flash cars in the driveway and they put a huge swimming pool in the back garden."

Another neighbour added: "The trouble is that it will probably be a similar sort that moves in and we'll have this all over again."

'Iron Man 3' actress Gwyneth and Coldplay singer Chris - who have Apple, nine, and Moses, seven, together - bought their home ten years ago for $4.1 million from actress Kate Winslet. They then bought the neighbouring property for $5 million as well as another house on the other side and combined all three to make a huge 33-room mansion.

They are thought to be selling the house and downsizing because they don't spend much time there after relocating to Los Angeles last year.

A source added: "They are looking at flats in Regents' Park to use as a bolthole when they visit London."

The power couple also have a warehouse penthouse in New York which they bought in 2007 for a reported $5 million.

Leonardo DiCaprio claims getting beaten up when he was 15 changed his whole life.

The actor was brought up in a tough area of East Hollywood, Los Angeles, but won a scholarship to University Elementary School in a better part of town, which meant he was in for a shock when he later returned to standard schooling.

He told the Los Angeles Times newspaper: "When I went back to the public school system it was like - boom - this is reality. I got beat up the day I arrived because I had the attitude of everyone living harmoniously with one another. That was the motivational thing that happened to me in my life. I was 15, and I said to my mom, 'I want to be an actor. Please take me to auditions.' Because I had to get out of that public school system."

'The Wolf of Wall Street' star Leonardo, 39, also said his upbringing in an area where there was "a major prostitution ring on my street corner [and] crime and violence everywhere" meant he has never had the desire to take drugs.

He added: "Never done it. That's because I saw this stuff literally every day when I was 3 or 4 years old. So Hollywood was a walk in the park for me ... I'd go to parties and it was there and, yeah, there's that temptation. Hollywood is a very volatile place where artists come in and they essentially say they want to belong. It's incredibly vulnerable to be an actor and also get criticism at a young age when you're formulating who you are. We've seen a lot of people fall victim to that, and it's very unfortunate."

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are planning to marry on a beach in the Bahamas.

The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor owns a private island where he filmed scenes for the swashbuckling blockbuster, and it is said while some of his rock star friends will be in attendance, it won't be a "big, glitzy" party.

Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, an insider said: "They're having a small intimate ceremony barefoot on the beach in Little Hall's Pond Cay.

"Afterwards they'll have a barbecue where some of Johnny's musician pals are going to perform, followed by limbo dancing.

"Neither Johnny nor Amber want a big, glitzy Hollywood bash. They are both very private."

Johnny new fiancée was recently spotted showing off her large diamond engagement ring for the first time as she saw him perform at a private charity event in Anaheim, California.

It seems money is no object for the star, who reportedly spent almost $100,000 on the accessory.

Celebrity jewellery expert Zaven Ghanimian told EOnline.com: "This looks like a 5-carat ring. If we assume it's a white oval diamond in the five carat range, the price would be between $78,000 to $100,000."

Stone Cold Steve Austin has warned Justin Bieber to "straighten his act up."

The former WWE wrestling star is upset the 19-year-old 'Confident' singer has got himself into so much trouble recently - with him facing legal problems in Toronto for allegedly assaulting a limo driver, Los Angeles for allegedly egging a neighbor's house and in Miami where he was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI), resisting arrest and driving without a license - because he doesn't want him to waste his talent.

Addressing the teen star directly on The Arsenio Hall Show, Steve said: "Justin, straighten you act up or I'm gonna come and find you and put my size 13 foot up your ass!"

Speaking about the directness of his message, he added: "Sometimes you just got to keep it simple."

While Steve, 49, has officially retired from wrestling, he still makes sporadic appearances with the WWE, and has an acting career.

After being officially charged with assault in Toronto on Wednesday (29.01.14), Justin enjoyed some downtime in his home territory of Ontario before today (31.01.14) jetting to New Jersey in the US for the NFL Super Bowl.

However, his private jet was delayed upon landing and searched by customs officials after they allegedly smelled marijuana. No illegal drugs were found but the star was subject to extended questioning before being let into the country, because he has two pending criminal cases against him.

Owen Wilson has become a father for the second time.

The 'Midnight in Paris' star welcomed a boy with "close friend" Caroline Lindqvist yesterday (30.01.14).

A representative told People.com: "I can confirm they had a baby boy on Thursday morning."

Owen, 45, also has three-year-old son Robert Ford with his ex-girlfriend, Jade Duell.

Although Owen and personal trainer Caroline, 41, decided to have a baby together, they are not in a relationship.

Swedish born Caroline said in October last year: "Owen and I decided to have a child even though we're not in a relationship. And we're not planning on starting a relationship, either.

"Owen and I are two close friends. We are really looking forward to it and can't wait to welcome our child at the end of January."

In the same interview, Caroline denied Owen had ever been one of her clients as well as rubbishing rumors she'd had an affair with him before the end of her marriage to plastic surgeon Dr. Ritu Chopra.

Owen is said to have been supporting Caroline throughout the pregnancy.

A source said: "They are not living together, but Owen is involved. He comes to doctor's appointments and makes sure Caroline is doing well."

Justin Bieber's private jet was stopped and searched for marijuana as it landed in the US today (31.01.14).

The 'Confident' singer has travelled from his native Canada to New Jersey for this weekend's Super Bowl with his father, Jeremy, and friends, but they ran into trouble when authorities thought they could smell the illegal drug on the aircraft.

According to TMZ.com, the plane and the passengers were held at Teterboro airport while the craft and persons onboard were searched, but nothing was found and all passengers were then let go.

The website adds a source close to Justin's camp said they knew they would be subject to security checks, as they had flown over an international border, so were unlikely to be carrying anything illegal.

Justin,19, currently faces legal troubles in Los Angeles, Toronto and Miami, with the latter being where he was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, resisting arrest and driving without a licence on January 23. Under questioning by cops, he admitted to having smoked marijuana and taken prescription medication given to him by his mother, Pattie Mallette.

Justin's former girlfriend, Milyn Jensen, has previously claimed his cannabis habit is out of control.

She said: "It's no secret that Justin loves his weed - there's probably not a moment in the day when's he's not got a buzz on.

"He's surrounded himself with the wrong people. He didn't want to be the cheesy popstar anymore and has gone way too far the other way."

Sienna Miller says it was a "relief" to end things amicably with Jude Law.

The 32-year-old actress broke off her engagement to the 'Alfie' actor in 2005 after it emerged he had been having an affair with the nanny of his children, but is glad she gave him a second chance in 2009 and was able "heal" their friendship before calling it quits for good.

Discussing their second shot at love, she told Esquire magazine: "Had to do it. A huge part of my life and his life and it ended in a way that was awful. When something ends in a way like that, it's important if you can, in a way, go back and revisit it and either shut that door or create a new room. So it was a very healthy, cathartic experience.

"And I think it paved the way for both of us to have great futures with no animosity or drama. Such a huge relief, to heal that. And I'm great friends with him and with his children. I love them, madly. Just huge love and respect for all of them."

Sienna - who has 18-month-old daughter, Marlowe, with her fiancé, Tom Sturridge - is happy to live her life out of the limelight these days, and says her partner complements her "lunacy" perfectly.

She enthused: "What's lovely is how protected it is. It's a totally novel experience, to be party of something that does not belong to anyone but me and my man and my baby. He's the antithesis of me, really. And that's a first for me, to be in a relationship with someone who's in a lot of respects very different.

"He's the perfect balance to my lunacy, which makes him sounds really boring but he's not, at all. It's good, it works. It's not easy, of course, but we're a family and I love that. I wake up and I'm like, 'I'm a family, I'm a grown up!' I still can't believe that."
