Show will make a real splash
Singin’ In The Rain, the stage version of the joyous Hollywood classic, can be seen at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal from February 4-15.
The musical stars Maxwell Caulfield as RF Simpson with Faye Tozer as Lina Lamont.
Following its recent sell-out season in London’s West End, the critically acclaimed Chichester Festival Theatre production of the musical S will play the Theatre Royal Nottingham as part of a national tour.
Maxwell Caulfield said: “I am beyond thrilled to be hitting the road with Singin’ in the Rain. As a huge fan of the original movie, the chance to bring this story to life on stage is something I couldn’t pass up and it’ll be great visiting some of the beautiful theatres on the tour, some I’ve been to previously, some are going to be a brand new experience for me.
“Theatre work is a huge passion of mine and having dealt with a few studio bosses in my time too, I relish the opportunity to play RF Simpson this glorious production”.
Faye Tozer added: “I am thrilled to take on the part of Lina Lamont in this classic musical. I’ve always adored the Singin’ in the Rain movie and love the glamour and glitz of Hollywood in the 20s, so to get to deliver some of Lina’s absolutely hilarious dialogue live on stage is dream come true.
“The beautiful costumes I get to wear are a bonus too! Having toured around the country both with many theatre productions and of course with Steps, I’m also very excited to visit Nottingham with this gorgeous show.”

Maxwell Caulfield is best known to TV audiences as Mark Wylde in ITV’s Emmerdale, Dr Jim Brodie in BBC1’s Casualty and Holby City and Miles Colby in both Dynasty and The Colbys. His film work includes the iconic Grease 2 opposite Michelle Pfeiffer. His theatre credits includes Billy Flynn in Chicago in both the West End and on Broadway.
Faye Tozer is probably best known as one fifth of the internationally successful pop group Steps, who have sold more than 20 million records worldwide and had an unprecedented run on 14 Top Ten singles.
The band reunited in 2012 following a ten-year hiatus.
Her musical theatre credits include lead roles in Tell Me on a Sunday, Me & My Girl and the critically acclaimed Tailor Made Man at the Arts Theatre in London’s West End.

n British music legend Paul Weller has confirmed five forest gigs, appearing as part of the Forestry Commission’s Forest Live concert programme in spectacular woodland locations across the country.
He will perform at Sherwood Pines Forest, Nottinghamshire on Saturday, June 14 and at Cannock Chase Forest, Staffordshire, on Saturday, June 28.
