The late Pete Seeger will be remembered on radio and television this weekend.
The iconic folk singer and activist died Monday at the age of 94. In his lifetime, his only real run of radio play came more than 60 years ago, when his folk group the Weavers had a number of hits like “Goodnight Irene.”
Channel 13 will rerun the 2008 “American Masters” documentary “Pete Seeger: The Power of Song” Friday at 10:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.
WFUV (90.7 FM) will remember Seeger on several programs.
Don McGee’s “Mixed Bag,” Saturday 4-8 p.m., will feature Seeger and artists he influenced. John Platt’s “Sunday Breakfast,” Sunday 8-11 a.m., will feature Seeger live as well as tribute songs.
Bob Sherman’s “Woody’s Children,” Sunday 4-5 p.m., will play songs from Seeger admirers. Sherman notes that Seeger coined the phrase he took for the name of the show.

WFUV program director Rita Houston’s 1995 interview with Seeger has been made available on the WFUV archive.
WFDU (89.1 FM) will suspend its fund-raiser Sunday, 3-6 p.m., to replay a “Traditions” episode on Seeger’s legacy. It’s hosted by Ron Olesko and Bill Hahn and produced with John Dull.
On SiriusXM satellite radio, Steve Earle will host a special Seeger-focused edition of “Hardcore Troubadour Radio” on Ch. 60. It will air Saturday at 9 p.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m.
E Street Radio (Ch. 20), which features the music of Seeger friend and admirer Bruce Springsteen, will run several tributes.
Concerts featuring material from Springsteen’s “Sessions,” an album of Seeger songs, will be played daily at noon and 8 p.m. The regular feature “Cover Me” will focus on covers of Seeger songs Saturday at 4 p.m.
Regular E Street Radio commentator Dave Marsh will host a special edition of “Live From E Street Radio” Friday at 10:30 a.m.
