Songwriters Festival: The fifth annual 30A Songwriters Festival, with 150 songwriters and more than 200 performances at 25 venues along Hwy. 30A, including Caliza Pool & Restaurant at Alys Beach, takes place all day Jan. 18-19. Purchase tickets at www.30asongwritersfestival.com.

Wine Dinner on the Road: The Destin Charity Wine Auction foundation hits the road for a wine dinner, sponsored by IP Casino Resort Spa, at 7 p.m. at award-winning Restaurant 32 at IP Casino in Biloxi, Miss. Book sale: The Friends of the Walton County/DeFuniak Springs Library will hold a book sale from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Walton County Fairgrounds, 790 State Rte 83 North in DeFuniak Springs. Proceeds will be used to provide new books and other materials not currently covered by the library budget. Call 859-0215.

Tree Sale/Pancake Breakfast: The Walton County Master Gardeners will hold their annual Tree Sale from 9 a.m. to noon at the County Fairgrounds in DeFuniak Springs, 732 N. Ninth St. Come early for the best selection. Proceeds provide scholarship opportunities for local high school and college students. The 4-H Club youth will host a Pancake Breakfast from 6-10 a.m. at the Extension Office next door.  Breakfast plates are $5 and proceeds will benefit Southeastern Guidedogs. Call 892-8172.

Topsail tour: Learn about coyotes from 2-3 p.m. at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach. A park entrance fee is required. Call 267-8330.

Jazz Brunch: Messina’s On 30A hosts a Jazz Brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays at Gulf Place in Santa Rosa Beach. Build your own Bloody Mary bar, and Bottomless Mimosas,

Gulf Place Farmer’s Market: Pick up fresh produce from The Produce Gal from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays at Gulf Place Farmer’s Market, in Gulf Place Town Center by Restaurant Fire.

Artist Bazaar: Artists at Gulf Place presents its Artist Bazaar from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Artists at Gulf Place green in the center of the Gulf Place loop. Bazaar features local artists, craftspeople and artisan vendors, interactive activities for children, and a free hot dog for those who make a purchase.

Seaside Farmers Market: Get your pick of fresh produce, baked goods, dairy products, native plants and other unique offerings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Amphitheatre behind Raw & Juicy. Enjoy special cooking demos and activities.

 

Sunday, Jan. 19

Brunch with Matt Hall: Matt Hall takes the stage at 10 a.m. during brunch at Marie’s Bistro, 2260 W. Hwy. 30A in Blue Mountain Beach.

Gospel concert: The Dixie Echoes Quartet will present a concert of gospel music at 3 p.m. at the Santa Rosa Beach Community Church, 3524 U.S. Hwy. 98 West. Admission is free with a love offering taken.

Beach Service: Worship at the beach with Hope Lutheran Church at 8 a.m. at Ed Walline Beach Access across from Gulf Place on Scenic Hwy. 30A in Santa Rosa Beach. Bring a towel, chair, or stand on the boardwalk. The service will be held at the church’s U.S. 98 campus during inclement weather and if the temperature is below 50 degrees. Call 267-0322.

30A Farmers’ Market: This community event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Town Center in Rosemary Beach features fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, honey, cheese and more.

 

Monday, Jan. 20

Run 30A: Run between three and six miles with a group of runners in the Santa Rosa Beach area from 6-7 p.m. at Ed Walline Beach access. Party after at Pizza by the Sea Gulf Place.

Billy Garrett: Enjoy the music of Billy Garrett from 7-10 p.m. at Shorty’s Surfside & Topside, 63 Hotz. Ave. in Grayton Beach.

 

Tuesday, Jan. 21

Music, humor: Direct from Branson, Mo., comedian Jim Stafford and entertainer Moe Bandy appear for a heartwarming evening of country music and homespun humor at 7:30 p.m. in the mainstage theater of the Mattie Kelly Arts Center on the Niceville campus of NWFSC.

Support group: A Bereavement Support Group, hosted by Emerald Coast Hospice, will be held from 1-2 p.m. at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 480N County Hwy. 393 in Santa Rosa Beach.

Baytowne on Ice:The seasonal ice skating rink at The Village of Baytowne Wharf is open  from 3-9 p.m. Skate for an hour and a half for $11 with skate rental $2. The first hour of each day is reserved for “kids skate,” youth 12 and under.

 

Wednesday, Jan. 22

Speaker: Dr. Ginger Manos of Coastal Vascular & Interventional, PLLC, will speak on Peripheral Artery Disease at 5:30 p.m. in the Hall of Fame Dining Room at Chautauqua Rehab & Nursing Center, 785 S. 2nd St. in DeFuniak Springs.

Trivia Night: There is a $20 bar tab for the winner of Castaways Trivia Night from 5-8 p.m. at Castaways Bar & Eatery in Carillon.

Pandora’s Music: Pandora’s Steakhouse of Grayton Beach presents Fearless Heights at 8 p.m. Jan. 22; Howling Jack at 7 p.m. Jan. 23; Continuum Jan. 24; and Roosevelt Franklin, Jan 25. Music begins at 9 p.m., unless noted, is free and open to all guests at least 21 years of age.

Americana Under The Stars: Beaucoup Blue performs from 6-8 p.m. in the amphitheater at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in Santa Rosa Beach. Bring a chair and beverage. Free admission into park and a suggested donation of $5 goes to the Friends of Topsail Hill.

Chautauqua Assembly: The annual Florida Chautauqua Assembly will be held Jan. 23-26. The keynote speaker is Demond Wilson, co-star of the 1970s TV series “Sanford and Son” explains how the series positively impacted the future for black actors in television. Free trees: The Florida Forest Service will give away Dogwood, Red Bud, Red Maple and Yellow Poplar trees to commemorate Arbor Day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 24 at First United Methodist Church, 88 Circle Drive in DeFuniak Springs, where Arbor Day in Florida originated.

Magic, music: Escape To Create presents performance artist, lecturer and master illusionist Jeanette Andrews and Kansas City pianist Mark Lowrey’s performance of original works and beloved standards at 7:30 p.m. at the Seaside Repertory Theatre in Santa Rosa Beach. Topsail tour: Through various bones, shells and seeds learn what type of creatures can be found in this area from 2-3 p.m. A park entrance fee is required. Call 267-8330.

Fashion show/luncheon: Caring & Sharing will have a fashion show and luncheon, “Let the Good Times Roll,” from 2-4 p.m. at the Linkside Conference Center in Sandestin. Tickets are $25 at 267-2866. Proceeds to support the food pantry.

Books and blooms: The Green Thumb Garden Club and the Friends of the Walton County Coastal Branch Library present Books and Blooms at the Library with more than 30 flower arrangements centered around book titles. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Magnolia House on Grand Boulevard, Hick's Nursery and at the door. A silent auction and raffle will also be held with proceeds benefitting the Library.

Blue Ribbon Healers: Enjoy the music of the Blue Ribbon Healers from 10 a.m. to noon at the Seaside Farmers Market in the Seaside Amphitheater.
