It's been two years since Rihanna debuted at No. 1 with her album Unapologetic, and she promises another one is on the way.

"I can't give you any hints of when it will drop. It's going to be great, that's all I'm going to tell you," she said. "And I'm excited about it."

Rihanna made the announcement Wednesday (Nov. 12) at Fort Belvoir military base in Virginia, where she participated in a meet-and-greet with her Navy, reports the Associated Press.

The stop was one of many she made in the greater Washington, D.C., area this week, including one at the White House, where she spoke with Obama administration officials about possibly joining his My Brother's Keeper community challenge, and one on stage alongside Eminem at the National Mall for the Veteran's Day Concert of Valor.

"I can't wait for everybody to hear [the music] little by little," she added, "... little by little. I can't wait."

Since 2009, Rihanna's dropped a new album every November. However, no amount of press prodding made her budge on giving a "hint" as to exactly when fans might expect this next one. The last time there was at least a two-year stretch between her LPs, Rih went from 2007's Good Girl Gone Bad to Rated R.

"I try to battle myself and outdo everything I've done and that's been the hardest thing to do," she said.

Whenever it releases, this upcoming album will be her first without Def Jam. She's now fully signed with her management, Jay Z's Roc Nation.
